A shame that Filly, Rachel Alexandra winner of the Preakness did not run in the Belmont today. Her Owners felt it would be too stressful after having won two big races only 14 days apart.
Congratulations to Summer Bird and his jockey Kent Desormeaux who won the Belmont Stakes. This is the first win here at Belmont for Desormeaux who lost this race last year on Big Brown. Dunkirk (my choice for the win) was 2nd and Mine that Bird (Kentucky Derby winner) was 3rd.
