Michael Joseph Jackson 1958-2009.
It was reported today that legendary pop star Michael Jackson passed away at 50 years of age. The cause is believed to be cardiac arrest. I have put this on my blog because many years ago when the Jackson family came to California I met them during those first few days before the fame of the Jackson 5. I babysat for the two youngest Jackson’s on 2 occasions. I didn’t get to know them and I didn’t know why they were in Hollywood and I didn’t ask. I just thought they were a nice family and that is how I choose to remember Michael Jackson, a nice boy with a nice family.
There will always be unanswered questions and controversy about his personal life but I believe he will be remembered more for his music and his undeniable talent. I send my sympathies to the Jackson family for their loss. The king of pop is gone and we will miss his talent and wonder what he might still have created but he has left us his legacy of music and dancing, 2 pearls beyond compare. We will not see his like again.

That is amazing that you babysat for them. Wow. It’s a small world.
RIP Jackson.
Only twice and only the 2 younger ones. I did not know them or ever see them again after that.
RIP Micheal Jackson. Very nice post.
ymk,
where have you been. are you going to start posting again, I hope so.
An Era has come to an end at the passing of MJ… I agree totally that he was one of a kind and replacing his place a the King of pop is impossible.. wish he had the world tour
Even though you only babysat for them twice, that’s still crazy. I wasn’t a big fan of Michael Jackson, but I was quite shocked by the announcement. I think history will remember him for his music and dancing.
Wow! Babysitting for the Jacksons is kind of a cool claim to fame!
No claim to fame here just a set of circumstances that led to me replacing the girl who was suppose to sit, remember it was only twice. They weren’t famous yet so they were like anybody else I babysat for. I lived in Hollywood between the ages of 13 and 16½. I lived right on Hollywood blvd. west of La Brea ave. It was an eye opening experience for a girl from Texas. The going rate was .50 cents an hour.
RIP Michael.
