Wordfull Tuesday: Mea Culpa….

Sorry for not posting in a while. There has been a lot going on, but I am not sure how much I can reveal so I have chosen to be silent instead. It seemed the safest thing to do.

So my Granddaughter K (who is 14) has come to live with us and we have been busy with all the legal issues surrounding that. The reason behind all this is private and for many reasons shall remain so.

What all this means of course is that for at least the next 4 or 5 years I am back in the parenting business. Daily carpools to school as well as driving to lessons, rehearsals, performances, auditions, parties, friends, doctor’s, dentist’s and various other places. In other words I am exhausted. But there is always that silver lining. I have become involved with community theater because of K and to that end I have met some wonderful people and made new friendships. There is a small group of moms and we call ourselves “The Drama Mama’s”and I am not the only Grandma in the group. This is an interesting bunch of women and I am sure you will be hearing a lot about them in other post.

This has all been a life changing experience, some good and some not so good. I am not sure what to expect in the future but I am sure there will be many ups and downs as well as various bumps along the way. Raising a teenager if memory serves is not easy, so it is a good thing I love a Dark Ride*.

*Dark Ride = Any ride in an amusement park that is ridden in the dark. Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain are two good examples.

So Much Has Happened….

So much has happened since I last wrote I hardly know where to begin. My last post was about Les Miserable so let me start there. K was outstanding as Mme. Thenardier. She was funny and evil and… funny, yes I know I already said it but she was funny, really funny. There is a buzz in the community about her. We are all excited for her. She has been cast in Jekyll and Hyde for her next show. It is not a junior production this time. She is in the ensemble and is the cover for one of the leads. It is a wonderful opportunity for her and she will learn a lot.

NOW FOR THE OTHER BIG THING. HANG ON IT’S MONUMENTAL. INTRODUCING…….

This is our new Grandson MG. He may be small but he is a monumental blessing to us.

Les Miserable In 3 Minutes….

My Granddaughter K had a sleep over party for her birthday and they decided to make a movie. They did their version of Les Miserable in 3 minutes. I think it’s very clever and funny. Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms especially mine. I love you and miss you every day.

Friday Soapbox: Pollen Pollen Everywhere….

See this tree. It is a beautiful tree and it sits in my front yard. I love the leaves and the rustling sound they make when the wind blows…..which is everyday. The sunlight filters through the leaves as though by heavenly design. I love this tree……except in May. In May I do not love this tree and this is why.

This tree has these little seed pods and every May they explode. The wind blows all this fluff around and it piles up everywhere. At first it’s pretty… like snow, but then my allergies kick in and suddenly it’s not pretty at all. Stop it! Stop it now. Darn tree.

What a mess….
