PRETTY KITTIES – Bobcat kittens peek through the leaves of a tree at the Antelope Valley Union High School District’s Regional Occupational Program facility on Avenue S, where their mother set up housekeeping. For the full story go to: AV Press.com
You might think this photo was taken in the Wilderness or some isolated place in the California Mountains, it was not. It was photographed less than 10 miles from my house. The High Desert of Southern California is an ever changing landscape with people and business displacing the local wildlife. The Bobcats were born on a roof in a heavily populated area and because they were around people everyday they had no fear of them. The new family was making the students and staff nervous so they were moved to a 600 acre ranch and set free, I hope they do well. They are deceptively cute. They are most definitely not kitties.
That breaks my heart. I hope they thrive on that ranch… poor little bobcats.
Another when life can’t get weirder moments. Cute picture though.
Very cute picture!
My brother in law went to Home Depot one time and saw a car with a *tiger* in the back of it. (He took a camera photo and sent it to us. Bizarre.) And then later that month, it was in the news that some guy had a tiger in its backyard and the neighbors complained and he got arrested. He lived about 5 minutes away from us. Think of all the kiddos in the area if the tiger got out! Gasp!
Gasp is right.
ps: Your design just changed as I typed the other thing. Pretty!
Yes I updated my post to explain the change. I like to change them a lot. I am glad she has so many that work. If I could write css then I could do remarkable things but without that ability wordpress is blah. I learned to do a little so I could alter the Press Row theme I use, but it is a mind boggling language.
Just wait until they grow big :D but that is so darn cute.
We used to live in Johnson County, Kansas. A mountain lion was known to wander in and out of the neighborhood along with the garden variety deer, snakes, bats and other darling critters. Life in the country is never dull!
Definitely cute, but I wouldn’t want them as my neighbors.
