If I Were King Of The Forrresst…

I have said before that my granddaughter is doing a play based on The Chronicles of Narnia at our local community theater for children. Well here are some photos of the play. They did 2 performances and the costume lady after having an argument with the director took her costumes and left….1 hour before the show started. There was a mad scramble to improvise as best they could. K. played Aslan and she is supposed to be a lion.

aslan1 I left the red eye in because it looks cool

I will sacrifice myself to the ice queen so I can save Narnia.

aslan3The death of Aslan. Poor Aslan.

The end of the first night.

The second night there was more time to refine the costumes as you can see. I think it looks a little Wizard of Ozish except K. is no cowardly lion.

Next is Hairspray…..

The Silver Lining…

Sometimes life can get you so far down you can’t even remember what up feels like. Then it happens, everything changes on a dime and it all starts with a smile. You hear a funny story and for whatever reason you connect with it and the story makes you smile and then you begin to chuckle, which turns into laughter, the more you think about it the more you laugh. You share the story with others and the laughter gets stronger with each telling, until your tearing up from laughing so hard. Before you know it you feel better. Your problems didn’t go away but you have a better perspective about them and that’s your silver lining, which all started with a smile.

I would like to thank Faemom for sharing her story about Evan and the pirates. It was unexpected and I didn’t know how much I needed it, until I began to smile. Now if I could just get that song outta my head.

This is my Grandson B. who loves pirates too. He and Evan have that in common which is why I connected to her story. Yo! Ho! Arr!

Arr!

Video Wednesday: Mr and Mrs Fire Eater…

Stunning rare footage of a fire-eating couple from the 1960s. How do people reach a decision to do this. Were they just sitting around the dinner table one evening and he turned to her and said  “Babe, I have a great idea on how to spice up our lives” and being the 1960’s she of course agreed and said “It’ll be groovy, but what will I wear” “Oh, I have something in mind.” he said with a mischievious grin. Well, this is definitely one way to keep things hot in a marriage. I know it is not suppose to be funny, but it is and hey! there are days I would like to shoot a flaming arrow at my husband too.

Spirit Jump…

I urge everyone to check out Spirit Jump and see what it is all about, I think you will want to support it if you do. Yaya Stuff put me on to it and I think it is a wonderful way to support cancer fighters who need their spirits lifted with cards, letters, emails, tweets, flowers or balloons. You can also recommend someone who might need a spirit jump. Brighten someone’s day just a little, it can help to make a difference.
