Movie Sunday: JULIE & JULIA

I put this trailer on my other blog site Movie Nosh, but it is so funny that I have decided to post it here as well. We could all use a laugh and this movie is about Julia Child, food, cooking and blogging. Sound familiar, I knew that it would. I am declaring it Movie Sunday, so break out the popcorn and grab a diet Dr. Pepper….. if you want diet coke KB bring your own. Down in front and Ink stop throwing the Ju Ju Bees at the screen. With kids you only have time for the trailers anyway.

And The Survey Says….

  1. What’s your current obsession? My kindle 2, because I take it everywhere and I named it George.
  2. What’s you favorite color and why? Brown, my favorite color is brown. I know, I know I have heard it all before but I like brown. A rich deep earthy brown just does it for me.
  3. What are you wearing today? Brown t-shirt (told you) and black sweats with slippers…. blogging clothes.
  4. Why is today special? It is my daughter ’75 s birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY!,  and that is always a very special day.
  5. What would you like to learn to do? CSS, I want to learn and understand Cascading Style Sheets so I can write my own theme and use it on my blog.
  6. What’s for dinner today? Soup for one most likely but I’m still hoping for the Olive Garden if ’73 makes it home early.
  7. What’s the last thing you bought? Tickets to see x-men origins: Wolverine. Big Jackman Wolverine X men fan. Check it out at Movie Nosh, my other blog.
  8. What are you listening to right now? The neighbors are putting in a patio so hammers, yelling, jackhammers, more yelling, sawing and does cement make a sound when you pour it at 7:00 am? Why yes it does.
  9. What’s your most challenging goal right now? My diabetes is always at the top of that list and I still can’t get it right. Blood sugar today 129, not bad, not good.
  10. What do you think about the person who tagged you? I think  Ink is smart with a capital S and I know she is a fine writer and will achieve that goal. But I thought this was supposed to be her homework.
  11. If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be? Scotland, on a bluff overlooking the sea.
  12. What would you like to have in your hands right now? A magic wand, oh the possibilities.
  13. What would you like to get rid of? The disorganization and clutter in my life plus one really ugly swimsuit that belongs to my husband.
  14. If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? Again that would be Scotland, maybe the Isle of Skye or Edinburgh for lunch.
  15. What super power would you like to possess? I said this in a comment for Faemom, another cool blogger you should check out, I would want to fly, but there is a catch, I would need to invent a force field to protect me from bugs because I don’t like the idea of them splattering on me as I am zipping through the air.
  16. What’s your favorite piece of clothing in your own closet? A teal evening dress I bought for the Emmy Awards when ’73 was nominated. I looked good and it has a great jacket.
  17. What’s your dream job? Movie Critic. I get to do something I love (see movies) and they will not only pay me to do it but write about it too. win win.
  18. If you had an unexpected $1000, what would you spend it on? A weekend in Two Bunch Palms. Sit in the natural hot spring and get a massage or two plus some quality time with the hubby, priceless.
  19. What do you find annoying? Question number 20 and nosy noisy neighbors.
  20. Describe your personal style. Ease and comfort beyond that refer to question 19.
  21. What play or musical would you want tickets to? All of them, I love the theater and never get to see anything.
  22. Whose closet would you want to raid? I can’t find a good answer for this question with out sounding trite or clever. Lets say Paramount Studios, wow the collectibles. See too clever.
  23. What are you most proud of? If this was who you were most proud of then I would go on for pages about my husband and kids but what is a little different. Today it would be this blog and what I have learned while writing it. Lifetime would be my marriage and that despite the statistics, it works. 36 years so far.

Worry is growing over the fate of a missing eight-year-old girl from Woodstock, Ont. Victoria Stafford, a 3rd Grade student at Oliver Stephens Public School, disappeared Wednesday afternoon April 8, 2009.

A day later, police released security video taken from a high school up the street from Stafford’s elementary school. Though the quality is poor, it shows what investigators have since confirmed is the missing child walking with a woman of interest on Fyfe Avenue.  The video was shot at about 3:32pm Wednesday  April 8, 2009 and it’s the last known sighting of Stafford.

staffordShe was last seen wearing a black Hannah Montana jacket with a white fur-lined hood, a black velvet skirt, black and white shoes and a purple and pink Bratz bag.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (519) 537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), to remain anonymous. There is a reward for anyone who has information that leads to the safe recovery of Victoria (tori) Stafford.

Shh I Have A Secret…

I was in the grocery store the other day and as I was checking out I was talking to the cashier, Sarah (not her real name) Sarah has been checking me out for 10 years (quit snickering you know what I mean) and I began to tell her I had started a blog. When all of a sudden this voice popped into my head (picture a cartoon bubble over my head) and an inner dialog began.

“Do you want to do this” the voice said.

“Who is this, is this God” I thought.

“Stop before you regret it” the voice warned.

“Regret what” I thought.

” The blog, don’t tell her about the blog” the voice said.

“Why on earth not. She might want to read it and tell her friends and then I will have increased my stats” I thought.

“Precisely” the voice warned.

“I don’t get it, what does that mean” I thought.

” Sometimes you are so dense, what does that mean, stupid stupid” the voice snapped.

“Hey wait a minute. I’m not going to stand here and be insulted by my own inner monologue” I thought.

” Sorry, back to business. If you tell people that know you personally, they might read it and be insulted , or not like it, or learn more about your life than you wanted them to know” the voice replied.

“Oh! I did not think of that. Your right!, I don’t think I will tell her. Thank you voice” I thought.

“Voice, Voice are you there” no answer. “If  I build it will they come” again no answer. ” just checking” I thought.

I have decided not to tell the people who know me, except family that I write this blog. I already told the family so it’s too late to rethink that one. After all  I wouldn’t want to hurt Sarah’s feelings when I write she is a very slow cashier and I wish she would stop talking because all I want is to check out so I can go home and put things away. I did not plan on taking up residence at checkout #4 and the guy behind me looks like the uni bomber and has some knock you out body odor. Plus I needed to pee and if she kept talking they were going to need a clean up on checkout #4 in about 30 seconds. Somethings should remain a mystery. So Sarah if you are reading this and you think it is me…. you are wrong, it’s not me… it’s someone else who writes like me, because if I had a blog you would be the first to know…honest.
