I received an Amazon Kindle 2 for my birthday and with the exception of my children it is the best gift ’73 (my husband) ever gave me. I love this thing, I want to marry it and give it babies…a dozen or more little Kindles running around and we could get rich because these things are expensive ($350 and up). I had been wanting one for sometime but felt it was too extravagant…old habits die hard, always spend money on everyone else but not yourself. I thought I would feel different when the kids grew up but oddly…no. When ’73 gave it to me he made sure there were witness’s to avoid a scene…smart man ’73. My first instinct was to kill him…to verbally detach his manhood and feed it to him for being such a thoughtful husband and getting me something I really wanted….wait a minute…that doesn’t sound right…Oh God, I can’t be angry at him for being nice. We can’t afford it but his heart is in the right place. What kind of person would I be if I gave him a hard time for being sweet….come on this is me we are talking about…I would tear Mother Teresa’s head off in a hot minute (while she was feeding the hungry) if I was pissed at her. Unbelievably after only a minor skirmish and obligatory protest I decided to take the high road and keep it. I still think the darn thing is too expensive but with all the money I’ll save by downloading books it should pay for itself in…Oh.. ruffly 10 years. Thank you “73 I love it and see I do too know how to be grateful gracious.
Meet my Kindle 2…George… isn’t he cute! He is only 8 inches tall and 1/3 of an inch thick but he is mighty, mighty and can hold over 1500 downloadable books…. can you say whispernet …sexy.
I know I have gone overboard here… but that’s me….one of my biggest passions is reading. I love that if I finish a book at 2:00 am, I don’t have to wait until the stores open. I can download another one immediately and start reading. The darn thing talks to me…for real…it will read out loud to me…’73 never did that.
Okay. I know what I’m getting for Mother’s Day…
I got one of these too. Just downloaded the entire works of Dickens for 99 cents. I do wish the screen were bigger though.
Thanks for linking up! That’s a really good point. If I finish a book in a series I about die until I can go get the next book!
