One of my favorite websites to visit is the L.A. Times Pictures in the News. This is what I found today. I don’t understand how anyone can be against freedom. I mean look at that statement, how can they be against freedom. I know they hate the United States but we are not the only source of freedom in the world. Zealots of any kind scare the crap out of me because they believe they are right when they light the fire to sacrifice you. Down through the centuries millions of people have died because someone believed their way was the right way, the only way to be. If you are going to protest something, then protest against intolerance and indifference to other cultures not freedom.
I love that I have the freedom to choose what my life will be. Where my life will be. Who my life will be with. There are many things I could think of to protest against but freedom isn’t one of them. It’s because of that freedom you can choose not to hate. Because of that freedom you can stand there holding up signs full of hate without getting arrested and hanged for it. Because of that freedom you have the right to choose not to be free and continue to be ignorant. You can make a difference in this world if you want to without hating and killing, just look at Mother Teresa.
Wow. What a powerful picture. And “Freedom can go to hell” ? What’s up with that? I didn’t realize freedom was so hated – that tyranny was so in vogue. Sometimes the world is a scary, scary place.
I couldn’t believe this. Down with freedom and up with what, enslavement, tyranny?
I chuckled. Maybe that’s the wrong reaction, but I once heard that laughter was the sound of freedom. Then I thought more and realized that poor fool has no idea what he’s talking about and that many Muslims around the world are disgusted he’s one of them.
Just wanted to pop in to tell you again how much I love your blog. There’s an award waiting for you at mine!
Your making me blush Jane. Thank you. It’s so pretty and shiny.
I know people are all ‘anti war’ but I love my country and am so thankful for those who are willing to fight for our freedom.
Yet another a picture says more than 1000 words… Deep down it is fear. They are scared. They are scared that freedom to all will mean the privileged class will no longer be so. Freedom for all means THEY have to share the power.
