Whoopi Goldberg……Really!

whoopi goldberg

I watched President Obama’s speech last night and my blog today was going to be about that. I was going to say how I wished Congress would let him speak and only when he is finished, they could applaud or whatever. Instead they stand up every few minutes and interrupt him. He has to stop and wait for the noise to die down before continuing. I commend him for not losing his train of thought. I know their Mothers taught them not to be rude as children. That interrupting someone while the’re speaking is wrong. So why are they behaving like a bunch of teens at a rock concert? Personally, I wanted to hear the speech, why else would I be watching? So on behalf of the Mothers of all the men and women in Congress… sit down!.. and be quiet! Let the man finish. This is what I would have said in today’s blog had Whoopi Goldberg not said it first on The View. So to Whoopie I say…Really!.. you couldn’t think of anything else to say…Really!.. Whoopi Goldberg, Academy Award winner, top comedian…nothing else…Really!…Really?……Love ya, Whoopi…Really!

Obamanation!

I like President Obama and I believe that he can restore this country if given time to do the job. We have to help support him though, no matter what your politics are, and stop using silly catch phrases like “Obamanation” and “The Obamanator”. The media and his detractors create these names to get your attention. He is the President of the United States and deserves to be respected as such. These phrases undermine who he is and what he is trying to do. I know this nation needs to laugh and yes he has a odd sounding name.  I agree that his name is fun to say because of how it rolls off the tongue. So go ahead… say it, you know you want too. But what kind of light does that present our President to the world in? Will he be taken seriously?….  Wait a minute, it really is fun to say and I do need to laugh more, so maybe we could say it just a little, like once a day. Ohh-baah-maa! …. Ohh-baah-maa! ….OK, maybe twice.

computer idiosyncrasy….

Well, I have been trying to insert a link into my blogroll box for two days and it just won’t do it. Sounds like a foreign language doesn’t it. Computers are suppose to help us but they frustrate me like nothing else can, not even my husband and kids. I enjoy the convenience of paying bills online and you can’t beat it for researching anything from recipes to “what does it mean when my car goes zzrip zerr uh oh”. But honestly it takes longer and longer to accomplish anything unless your processor is in the gigabyte range. Of course mine is only 932 MHz, so I live in the stone age. In today’s economy you can’t afford to by a new computer every year or two, so your forced to learn patience. Have I mentioned I’m not good at patience?

Jack And The Dryer…

I am re-posting today because I just couldn’t think of anything I wanted to say. This is one of my very first post and very few of you have read it, so it made sense to choose this one.  I have re-worked it a little bit.

Do you have a crazy animal in your family? I do, in fact I have several. But the one I am telling you about today is Jack, a Cocker Spaniel/Jack Russell mix. Big brown eyes and a tubby little body on long skinny legs, that’s Jack. His full name is Jack Flash but we never use that anymore because, well look at him, he is not fast or energetic.

We have one of those upright dryers on a pedestal and Jack can open it. Yes, you heard me, Jack the dog can open the dryer. He also climbs in and lays on the warm clean (use to be hair free) clothes. He even climbed in and pooped there one rainy day which was so not cool. What is his fascination with the dryer? Got to give him points for being able to open it without fingers. How many dogs do you know who can do that.

He is also scared of any strange noise including the neighbors pool pump. When he is scared he pants very loudly at the back door leaving a puddle of drool, so gross! He has to have a wubbie blanket to sleep with like a baby. He chews on the blanket until it is just shreds and then continues to fluff the pieces to sleep on. He is a good dog most of the time, but I really wish he would stay out of the dryer and off my laundry. I always seem to get the quirky ones.

He doesn’t like having his picture taken so he hides if he sees the camera.
